Our energy project

Energy Day in Roßtal

Over many years, a shared electricity and heat system has grown around our apartment house. In July 2026, we opened the doors to the plant room and introduced our family project to interested visitors.

Sharing electricity and heat

The supply system connects the apartment house, two apartment buildings and one detached house, serving a total of twelve tenant households. Three combined heat and power units generate electricity and heat; they are complemented by three large photovoltaic arrays. A large battery helps us make better use of the energy where and when it is needed.

Our aim is to draw as little electricity as possible from outside and avoid unnecessarily feeding the energy we generate into the public grid. Reaching this point has been a long learning process, involving technical questions as well as the necessary coordination with the organisations involved.

Fürth Aktuell reported on the project and the first Energy Day, which welcomed guests from politics and tourism.

What we would like to pass on

We do not regard our project as a finished blueprint. It grew out of the needs of our buildings and was developed step by step. At Energy Day, we would like to show openly how the system works, which decisions proved helpful and where patience and perseverance were required.

We hope to pass on constructive information, practical guidance and experience to people considering similar ideas of their own. Personal conversation and an exchange of different perspectives are just as important to us.

Another Energy Day in autumn 2026

Following the interest in the first event, we would like to show our project again in autumn so that more interested visitors can gain an insight. The exact date has not yet been set.

Anyone wishing to attend or be kept informed about the date is welcome to contact us without obligation. Interested individuals are as welcome as representatives from municipalities, politics, public administration, specialist fields, associations or other organisations.

Send us a short message or give us a call. If several people are already interested, we will be happy to coordinate a suitable date.
